About Kimminau Floors

Most people cringe at the thought of having their hardwood floors installed, refinished, or repaired. Many have heard horror stories about a hardwood floor contractor turning their home into a smelly, toxic dust bowl that left their home disrupted for weeks on end.

At Kimminau Floors, we recognized these common hardwood floor problems and decided to become fully focused on our client’s experiences. Our expert team completes any hardwood flooring project with dust-free sanding solutions, odorless finishes, and a full turn-key process that includes moving furniture, painting touch-ups, and other carpentry services.

Kimminau Floors currently has two warehouses in Grandview, MO. Our main office has over 10,000 square feet and a showroom. Kimminau Floors manages 250+ hardwood projects each year. Our niche in the flooring industry is quality hardwood flooring and a comprehensive turn-key solution that includes moving your furniture. Our mission is to provide homeowners with a stress-free and turn-key hardwood flooring experience.

Ben & Ann Kimminau

Job Title: Owners

Ben’s Career: Ben graduated from Avila University in 1998 with a degree in Information Science and played basketball for all 4 years. He began his career at Sprint in 1998 as a software engineer. Ben spent 18 years with the company and eventually left his role as an application architect in 2016 to run Kimminau Floors full time.

Ben was introduced to the hardwood flooring industry in 2004 when he and a buddy decided to buy into a hardwood franchise while working their corporate jobs. That initial business went through many transformations over the next few years and eventually became Kimminau Floors in 2011.

Ann’s Career: Ann attended Rockhurst University and graduated in 1994. She received a degree in Medical Sociology and Philosophy and played for the Hawklet volleyball program for 2 years. She began her career at Catholic Charities in Kansas City, Missouri where she spent the majority of her 13 year career as the director of Human Resources and Continuous Quality Improvement. Ann spent a few years at home focusing on raising both sons and now that both kids are grown, she has taken a more active role with Kimminau Floors.

Ben’s Role: Ben’s primary focus is business development, sales, and marketing. As with most fast-growing small businesses, Ben has the opportunity to wear many hats and is actively involved with most projects.

Ann’s Role: Ann has taken on all Human Resource responsibilities as well as many administrative processes in the office. She also has the crucial role of reviewing all of our completed projects and meeting with clients to review the proper way to care for their floors.

Family: Ben and Ann were married on October 25th, 2003. They have two sons, Connor and Adam. The family enjoys attending sporting events, playing golf together, and spending time at the Lake of Ozarks with extended family.

Hobbies: Both Ann and Ben are very competitive. Ann enjoys working out and even participated in a figure bodybuilding competition in 2011. She has recently caught the golfing bug and has taken her competitive spirit to the golf course. Ben is an avid golfer that enjoys playing with his buddies and amateur golf events around Kansas City.

Ronnie Miller Jr.

Job Title: Operations Lead

Career Summary: Ronnie was introduced to the hardwood industry by his father Ronnie Miller Sr. He started working with him right out of high school in 2005. He spent the next 8 years working with his father learning how to install, sand, finish, and repair hardwood floors. He branched off and started his own company in 2013. After 8 years of running his own successful operation, he decided to take a job with a local remodeling company for a change of pace. He quickly realized that he had a deep passion for working on hardwood floors and joined the Kimminau family in 2021.

Role: Ronnie brings a wealth of experience to our operations team. His years of running his own hardwood flooring business have allowed him to develop a well-rounded set of skills. Ronnie’s role as operations lead includes managing several crew leaders, training apprentices, process refinement, managing the day-to-day scheduling adjustments, and quality control on each project. Ronnie excels at client communication and being extremely patient with our apprentices and journeymen.

Certifications: National Wood Flooring Association (FWFA) Sand and Finish Certified. NWFA Installation Certified.

Completed NWFA machine maintenance and Mohawk Finishing Repair Classes.

Hobbies: BBQ, maintaining my land, family time with wife and kids.

Family: Married to wife Lauren and has three daughters, Annabelle, Avery, and Reese.

Favorite Part of working in the hardwood industry: No two jobs are the same, always more to learn, very rewarding when you take an old floor and make it look new again.

Fun Fact: I live on 5 acres that I share with many pet ducks.

Dominic Soaib

Job Title: Crew Leader

Career Summary: Dominic joined Kimminau Floors in 2015. He brought a tenacious work ethic to our hardwood company. He learned the trade over the next 3 years and decided to move to Colorado where he continued in the Hardwood Flooring industry working for Young Brothers Hardwood Floors. His time in Colorado allowed him to continue developing his skills and knowledge with continued experience and training. He was fortunate enough to play a role in producing an NWFA Floor of the Year while working for the Young Brothers. He moved back to the Kansas City area in early 2021 and came back to work for Kimminau Floors where he now serves as a crew leader and is a key member of our leadership team.

Role: Dominic has a passion for sanding and refinishing hardwood floors. He has produced our Standard Operating Procedures for sanding and is continuously looking at refinement ideas that will produce the best floor possible for our clients. He leads a sanding team and is typically assigned to the most challenging refinishing projects. He’s also responsible for training our apprentices.

Certifications: NWFA Sand and Finish Certified. NWFA Installation Certified.

Hobbies: Playing Golf, traveling to Vegas, following the NHL and MLB, and spending time with girlfriend Jana and dog Stanley.

Favorite Part of working in the hardwood industry: Trying new techniques, machines, abrasives, etc. so that I can continually elevate my skills. Knowing that I will always have room to produce an overall better final product.

Fun Facts: I have lived in 6 different states, played college baseball at the University of Missouri St. Louis, and am the youngest of 5 children.
